Fongo offers the VOIP unlock features for user to use their own SIP clients and most of the SIP clients offer SIP/SIMPLE text messaging.
I was hoping you guys would support texting via SIP client as it is an extension of SIP

At this time, the SMS is built directly into the app, and has only bees tested in that way. If you try to test via another app. If you do happen to test via another SIP app, please let us know (for the sake of sharing in the community) the outcome.

I have tested SMS via Bria from Counterpart and Growndwire from Acrobits. They both error out saying that the server does not support text messages.

That is more or less what i expected would happen as the SMS is built into the app. Once you buy the VoIP unlock key, the account will function more as a home phone even when using a SIP app. At that point, the account is meant to be used more as a home phone then a mobile client.

You can easily identify what type of SIP agent we are using with our VOIP accounts and allow SMS to certain SIP agents.

Most of the SIP clients already support the feature but we can't use it with your service.

As posted in other threads, once the VoIP unlock has been purchased, the service works in a different way. As such, SMS will not function (or will have serious issues) if someone try's to use on an account with a VoIP unlock key. (Then again, it may function perfectly depending on your set up)
That being said, Dell Voice does not offer to sell the VoIP unlock key's anymore, it is designed to be either a mobile solution, or home phone.
