Receiving strange calls 1-2 times day

Post by dommerdog »

I recently signed up to Freephoneline and transferred my existing number. I also ported to an ATA HT286 model.

Over the last couple of nights, we have been receiving phone calls in the middle of the night from "unknown" numbers, others say unknown name and "1001" and "555-0000"

These do not show up on the call logs online, but do show up on the phone's CID

I think I might have a firewall issue allowing a backdoor open into my ATA?

Any advise or feedback?

Any ports forwarded from the router to the ATA?

Is there a setting in the HT286 to only allow calls from the registered gateway?

I am not sure about the port settings?

I also have a Netgear Wireless N Router/Switch between my Internet Router and ATA

It's probably best to call in for support if this is a purchased from FPL ATA. Or, go through the recommended device config file in the Configuration forum.
