I'm unable to purchase credit online, using 2 different Visa Debit cards (RBC and CIBC) and I'm receiving this message: "IP country match invalid. Please call the Call Center to make a purchase".
The Help Desk stated that the account info entered may be wrong, which is not true.
These 2 cards are not "Prepayed card" cards (the transaction amount is deducted from the checking account) and can be used worldwide for online transactions. Why are they rejected by Fongo?
Please help.
Thanks

Re: Visa debit card rejected
Not sure why you think Debit would be accepted as a form of payment. In the online store, the Visa, Mastercard and American Express logos are shown as valid payment methods, but the card number is described as "Credit Card Number".
That's not to say they couldn't accept it in the future, but debit is not one of the accepted methods of payment right now. From the Terms & Conditions:

Re: Visa debit card rejected
Thanks for the clarification about Fongo purchase policy.
I reordered the $5.00 amount for international calls with another Visa CREDIT card I already used successfully last February to purchase the unlock key and the ATA from Fongo and , although I have enough funds on this credit card and the id info provided was correct, the transaction was still rejected with this odd message: "IP country match invalid. Please call the Call Center to make a purchase".
I then called the Help Desk and Customer Service Representative processed the transaction successfully.
This seems to be a technical issue from DV.
Regards.

Re: Visa debit card rejected
I believe there is something else that is wrong. The Visa Debit cards are specifically for online purchases from your bank account while using a Visa # that is on the card. It is not a credit card but it is accessed through the Visa network. We should have had these years ago, although purchasing with a credit card is certainly much more beneficial with rewards and insurances and you don't have to pay for 21 days in most cases.

Re: Visa debit card rejected
We do address validation on all credit card purchases and I believe that is probably where the issue would fall when trying to use cards of this nature (gift visa cards, visa debit, etc. that aren't registered in your name and address). Most merchants don't do address validation, but we do this on all transactions as it provides an additional layer of security and fraud protection for our customers.Madwand wrote:I believe there is something else that is wrong. Re: Visa debit card rejected
I received a PM regarding the reject of the Visa Credit Card I already used last February.
I moved in May from Montreal to another city (Montreal South shore) and the IP address linked to my account has changed. This is the reason why I was receiving message "IP country match invalid".
This is a validation process from Fongo to prevent fraud with credit cards.
