Hi folks -
Just signed up for Dell Voice and noticed there was now text messaging support. That's pretty awesome.
I've a few questions I'm hoping someone can answer:
1. If I pay for the SIP password does Dell Voice handle simultaneous ringing? (i.e. in the app on my phone and any registered SIP devices.)
2. If I switch my number from a dedicated Dell Voice # to a SIP + Dell Voice # is it still possible to do text messaging from within the app? Where do received texts go in this situation - to the originating Dell Voice device?
Basically I'm pondering porting my mobile number over to Dell Voice, buying the SIP password, and then using the app and SIP device in tandem.

Re: Port & text question
To answer both questions, Dell voice does not sell the voip unlock key anymore, you can however port your number over and use it to SMS message.

I found out that after posting this message. Is there no way to use the text messaging feature with my existing number AND use SIP? That's really disappointing.FONGO_neil wrote:To answer both questions, Dell voice does not sell the voip unlock key anymore, you can however port your number over and use it to SMS message.

Sadly, that is not an option at this time although it is indeed being taken into consideration for future upgrades.
An alternative at this time is to create a second account, and have one number forward to the other.
