Port OUT policy?

Post by stoked »

Hi,

What's is the policy for porting out a DID that has been ported in? I want to make sure that I'm able to port out my number if I'm unhappy with DV service once I've ported in my number. Also, if it is supported, is there a fee?

Thanks.

Depending on which carrier you port TO, they may require documentation that you "own" or control the number -- as there is no BILL per se from Fongo, this can be difficult, depending on the carrier. As an example, it is currently very difficult if not downright impossible to port out from Fongo to Wind Mobile for this reason, due to Wind's policies regarding porting IN.

Fongo does not charge to port OUT, as most carriers charge for the port IN. As for documentation, the best you can hope to do visa-vis Fongo is a screen grab of your account login, as there is no bill!

Check with whatever carrier you are planning to port INto to check what their required documentation/proof is.
