SPA2102 Unable to make calls

Hi,

I purchased my VOIP unlock key 3 days ago and setup my SPA2102 using the guide here in the forum, including the dailing string. I can receive calls, the phone rings and I'm able to talk however when I try to dial, there is a dial tone however after I finnish dialing I get fast busy. I do have another SPA2102 from Primus connected to my network with no issues. I've tried disconnecting the Primus SPA2102 from my network....rebooting my Rogers modem and connecting only the SPA2102 that is configured for freephoneline to no avail. Please help. Thanks.

This sort of thing has come up a few times before.

It could either be a dial string issue OR you have got an & in your caller ID name (eg Jane & Bill)

For some reason the ATAs don't like special characters in the Caller ID Name, so if you have an & or something else, try it without it.

I do have an & on my caller ID name. Let me go give that a try and report back. Thanks for the quick response.

I've removed the & in my caller id and what do you know? It works! Thanks for the quick response :D

No problem. I can't take credit for finding that fix, but I did remember it from when others have had that problem.
