DID Number and freephoneline setup

Post by edywalls »

Hi Guys,

I bought an unlocked Linksys PAP2T-NA VoIP Adapter, set up with the instructions shared on this forum and got it working like a charm. I want to ad a DID number (a virtual number in Mexico city). I found a company who has an affordable service for it (FlyNumber), but when I re-direction my calls from the DID to my freephoneline number, it seems that they get blocked.

This is what support on their end says:
"The calls are hitting our system but your VoIP provider is not allowing the calls... Perhaps they are blocking our IP's... I would also check with them to make sure they allow outside traffic".

And they gave me a butch of Ip addresses.

So my question is, is it possible to add a service like this to my freephoneline? if so, what do I need to do to enable it?

I hope I put enough info, thanks in advance, I hope this helps others with the same question.

Cheers,

Eddie

P.S. Just in case you need this info, here is how I'm setting it up on their end:

This company can forward to:
Phone
VoIP
ITSP
GTalk
Skype
PBX

So I picked VOIP

Host: voip.freephoneline.ca

User name: 1xxx xxx (my freephoneline number)

Are they trying to forward the call via SIP? if so it won't work as FPL does in fact block SIP calls (IE something like 16133662222@voip.freephoneline.ca). Forwarding the call to your actual phone number will work, but then I would imagine you will have to pay for that incoming call.

The question to ask really, is how is FlyNumber trying to forward the calls to you?

Thanks for your reply Jake,

They have several Options, VOIP (which is how I tried, and you already mentioned FPL blocks them), Phone (there is a charge per minute), ITSP, Gtalk and Skype. I wanted to use VOIP because this way I only pay for the monthly DID charge, other wise its that plus the per minute charge.

you can try playing around with getonsip.com and pbxes.org

You might be able to get something working with them with regards to getting a call forwarded via SIP. You will have to play around with your setup though. If you look at pbxes.org you will probably be able to set up your flynumber as a trunk rather than forwarding it.
