Your port was confirmed as successful? You have put in all the settings correctly that you were provided into your ATA? If so, there is no reason why your old provider should still have control of your number in any way shape or form (as of the port being confirmed), and the fact that it rings on that adapter still is puzzling. If you dial out using your FPL account, is it showing the CORRECT (ported) # or the old FPL-based # in caller ID?

I notice that your ISP is also Shaw and that you have an Shaw-based #, so it may be tougher to just unplug things, but if you have the manuals/guides, see how to turn off the phone part of your Shaw equipment and see if that allows things to work correctly.

To me though, it seems that something with the port may not have been completed correctly.

if i dial out using FPL account, it shows Correct ported # on the "caller ID"

when i call to ask for tech support that "porting didn't complete properly" they refuse to help me

what can i do?

Be more persistent with them. Get the rep's name or ID number as well. If they continue to refuse, get in touch with Mike or Steve here on the forum (green names) -- PM them your details, a link to this forum, and the name/time of call for the reps that refused to help you. You have paid money for the port, and it is not working correctly, so they should assist you in at least opening a trouble ticket. I do not see why they would refuse to assist you in this circumstance! :(
