I can call but they can't hear me!

Post by fbedros »

Hi,

If anybody could help me with this, it would be appreciated...
I'm running DV on Android 4.0.4 on a Motorola Atrix HD.
2 times out of 3, when I call with DV, the call "works" (it rings and the person picks up the call) but the person that answers cannot hear me, so he/she hangs up. Very frustrating. I haven't had this problem when receiving calls yet... Anybody has a clue what the problem is?

Thanks!

Having the same problem here, with both
incoming and outgoing. Since I haven't
changed anything in my system, I think
it's an issue with the main servers.

Just make sure you are running Java 6 update 25
- Dell voice doesn't like newer versions of Java . . .

Thanks for your reply. I hope it's just a temporary thing with their servers. Hopefully somebody from Fongo can answer!
But I don't think it has to do with Java, the problem that I am describing is from my Android app.

Thanks.

Fairly sure that the Android app also leans on JAVA for it's coding.

I suspect (just a wild guess - no proof!) that it is a network thing at Fongo, as my PC-app software has been having a TON of audio issues too, whereas I had about a 5-10% problem before, it is now 70+% of the time I am having issues ... and I am getting horribly frustrated myself!

70+% of the time, that's horrible! How can we rely on DV if Fongo's network isn't working properly?

Can somebody at Fongo inform us if there is a network issue since last week?

Thanks.

To clarify, I am *POSITIVE* that my calling problems are largely due to the FPL PC Softphone v3.0.3.0 and NOT the network... rebooting my machine, making a "throw-away" call to "warm the software up" seems to work, but is a waste of time for a very unstable chunk of software, which, in all honesty, prevents me from achieving full use of FPL service.

TBH, brutally so, I would have already bought a VOIP unlock key if the softphone would have proven to be more reliable... however, even though getting AWAY from the softphone would fix my issues, I cannot in good faith throw money at something that I think is unstable (see my vicious circle?)
