People who I call cannot hear me!

Post by Michelle142 »

Hello there,

I have been having a problem with the Dell Voice application on my Android Samsung Galaxy S2 for the past couple of months. I am calling via my home WiFi (Bell Fibe 16 internet). When I make calls, the recipients of the calls cannot hear me when they pick up. I can hear them perfectly.

I used the app from Puerto Rico (via hotel WiFi) in the summer and had no problems whatsoever dealing with WestJet in Alberta (long story...) and I had previously been able to complete calls from my home WiFi with no problem. However, now I am experiencing the problem mentioned above.

Any help that anyone can give me on how to resolve this is appreciated. The application is great...when I can get it to work. ;)

I have the same issue and it's frustrating.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 as well and I've tried making outgoing calls using my bell WiFi or through my data plan and still no one can hear me but I can hear perfectly.

I'd love to know what the solution is to this...

Sadly, you have NAT issues with your router. The router is doing a poor job in routing your incoming audio packets, thus the problem.

A solution would be to manually configure the router to accept where the send VOIP packets, and your SIP device has to be configured to be on the same page as the router. Not fun. What makes is less fun is a lot of router firmware is just awful! If you have a router that can be flashed to DD-WRT, that would be a plus.

The issue is not with the router, it's with Fongo and compatibility problems with some Android devices. I have the Motorola Atrix HD and have the same problem, both on wifi and on data plan (so when not using router).

When I use another account from my iPod touch, all works fine. On my Android device, not working, people cannot hear me as posted on the first message.
