Also it says the number is not covered by my test messaging add-on package on all Canadian numbers that I have tried.

Hi clachankid,

when you first purchase the texting service, it can take up to 24 hours to be activated. Are you still having issues with texting?

Yes I still cannot send txt. The service was working fine until I had my number ported over now I cannot send txt it always says "You are trying to test message a phone number that is not covered by your text messaging add-on package. Please consider purchasing the appropriate package." But I have the canadian package and I'm only texting canadian numbers.

Thanks

I ported my number too, I cannot receive or send text and this is the message I get when I try to send it:

Uh oh!

The text messaging service is not currently available, or you are not currently subscribed to a text messaging... I just paid for 1 months of unlimited texting to US and Canada, why is this not working!

I have called fongo, they open tickets, doesnt get resolved and still we are back to the same thing, why cant they have a real technical support number that you can call and just have them fix it up. I hate tickets, you wait and yet you pay for something you cannot use.

When I had my other fongo account, with a number that fongo assigned by the site, when I added minutes it worked right away, now that I ported a number, it doesnt even work, its been over 24 hours about and yet, still not texting. Nobody is willing to resolve this. I even PM one of the moderators here to look into it, still didnt get one answer. The sales people are very rude, like they are working for free. Dont know about this service with them.

Hi Mike

I got your message today, you need to really push your programmers to get this thing resolved, I already lost 1 day or so of service of not being able to text, that should be also added to my monthly minutes I paid. I'm not here to start anything, but there has to be a better support in the fongo team, because its getting very frustrating having to run around and fight for a service you don't have. Fongo should hire real technicians, that you can call to have them resolve the problem right away. I got tired of waiting, first the number that was being ported, was having problems took about 2 weeks because they couldn't find an account number, now that ok, now the texting. I need to go back and forth through dell account so that I can use the texting in my other account, until this one is resolved.

Hi ayo,

I saw the report you filed yesterday with our CSR's, plus the PM you sent me. This information was sent out yesterday (i am the one handling your account on this issue) This would equate to less then 24 hours at the moment. We aim to have issues resolved in 24-48 hours, however, as with any company, it is possible it will take longer depending on the nature of the issue.

Yes I understand that. I know that you are probably trying hard to resolve this matter, but also keep in mind that in business, the faster you get the job done, the bigger the credibility is earned. From there, people can say wow, fongo is really fast in resolving the issues, I should also refer this to friends cause there customer support is awesome. Because of this issue that might take 24-48 hours or even longer as you stated, the days that I got the package will be deducted, whats going to happen to those days that I cant use the text ? Refund or it will be a added on top of what I purchased.

At 5-6 cents a day for the text packages I can't see them cutting cheques for everyone when the systems go down for whatever reason.
I think we have had 2 or 3 days where we have not been able to use the text packages, times that by the 3 devices we have here it comes out to no more than 9 days in total. Even at 6 cents a day that is just a little over 50 cents and I wouldn't expect to be compensated in a monetary way. It would be very nice to have a few days added on for the problems, but I also understand it is a new service and they hit some bumps. Having said that it could be said that they know it is a new service and have had some bumps so they should expect to take a bit of a hit to begin with.

For me it is more the fact we couldn't text even if we wanted to. When you consider that sending a text on PAYG can cost 20 cents for one message, but with DV you get 4 complete days worth of texting for the same amount, it's difficult to get too upset :)

The text message is now working, I hope that it doesnt go down again. But like I said, if you buy a service and that service doesnt work for lets say 7 days and you paid for 31, the system should add those 7 days on the package you have. They can easily credit the days added.

Couldn't agree more. They should easily be able to add on a few extra days, for the inconvenience if nothing else.

Godaddy did things right when they had their DDOS attack a few months back. They credited accounts with a month's worth of hosting for every hosting package you have with them. Sure I was annoyed with the fact my servers were down for a day or so, but I also felt it was very fair of them to give the credits. That was good customer service from my point of view.

Exactly my point, considering that if you are a new company and you need more people to use the service, the better the support, the more the people will sign up and use it. Why do you think Apple is successful in their business, its because they have the best customer service, and they even do servicing on the spot if not they give you a new device. Whereas the other companies have to send it out for repairs. All I know is, to be successful in any business you need to provide the best service at the best price and the best customer service, once you have established that, you business will be successful.

Still unable to send text messages. Is there a fix? If not, can I get a refund for my 6 month unlimited Canada texting as I cannot text?

Did you PM your number to fongo_mike?

I think this has to be fixed on a case by case basis.

This text issue is still not resolved on my ported number. This is what it does, ill tell you, and your going to start to laugh. Firstly, when someone sends me a text message to my fongo ported number, I dont receive the message in my inbox instead the phone rings from the person who is texting me. I answer it, and then I get options to hear the message through the fongo app. If I press 1 to hear the message, it plays the message of what the person sent me. Rather than being a regular sms message. Then gives you the option to reply just by speaking into it. Then it sends that message back to the user whatever you replied, and the other party gets charged a 15 cents from the company to hear it, because it gives a 1866 number to call to hear the voice text message. When I try to send out text messages, nobody gets them the regular way. Its been like this over 3-4 weeks now and yet still no solution. I tried calling fongo, and asking people here to look into it and how I was suppose to get an answer within 48 hours max, that has been about almost a month now. Still the same thing. I dont understand what kind of technicians these are. If they cant solve a simple issue like this, then they should close the business of having a fongo app. I mean its great, but if this is always going to happen whats the point ? Seems like they dont care. In the meantime im not able to text anyone or receive any NORMAL SMS message. But the funny thing is, the other fongo account number I have, that was assigned by fongo (not the ported number) works perfectly go figure that out.

Man I feel for you. You have given a lot of information there it should be easy to work out what is going on.

Fongo_Mike, is there something you can do or say what is going on? I know it is still holiday time, but is there any hope of fixing this?

Yes Jake, this is a big problem, My numbers text message was expiring within in 1 day left on my ported number, guess what happened. I paid, and it didnt even add that to my account so now im out 2.99 which makes about 3.40 Canadian. So there goes the money.

Like I said in this post here, this is how you solve the problem and what fongo really needs, read this here at the last paragraph I wrote:

http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6588

Read what I wrote there, if these are all solved would be the perfect app.

ayo, when you ported over to us, did you ever call your previous provider to ocnfirm you were cancelling service with them? The message does not actually come from our system so there is a good chance they still have that number somewhere in their own systems. We can confirm your number was properly ported on our side (we do not have the ability to verify on your previous providers side)
