Hi,
I have question about registering into FPL server. Sitting behind my router/firewall is a PAP2 configured to register to the FPL server and working fine. I am able to receive and make call using an old fashion phone.
I plan on purchasing an Nortel/Avaya 1120e IP Phone convert to SIP. My question is if I put that phone behind my router/firewall. Could I set it up to register with FPL and both the PAP2 and 1120e phone will play nice together? For example, both PAP2 and 1120e will receive incoming and I can make outgoing call.
Or do I have to set up an asterix server? This is only my last solution if FPL does not allow registration from within one external IP.
Let me know if there any simple solution before I go with a more complicate way.
Regards,
Multi registration within same internal network

Re: Multi registration within same internal network
You can only register one device to FPL at a time for your account to work properly.
You will need to use a PBX of sorts if you want to register more than one SIP device. You will be able to register both devices, but they will keep stealing registration from each other and you won't really know which phone will ring if any.
PBXs are obviously much more fun (for some I guess:)) to play with, and a lot more flexible. If you do go the asterisk route, then you will have to change the user agent (to something like a PAP2T) as the default user agent gets blocked by FPL.
