Post by Pirate »

I just noticed that area code 250 is not available in B.C.? Will it be available anytime soon?

Well, are there any area's that are not covered by Freephoneline that would be with the 250 NPA?

The reason we may not have this is that it is a "main" NPA of BC and is already owned by Bell or I would guess Telus since it is the registered ILEC out there.

So does this mean FPL will never be able to acquire 250 area codes then?

Well, never say never. If any come available we will of course look into it. But while our phone number inventory stays solid I doubt we would purchase any more batches. Is there a particular reason you want 250?

Or is it that you are used to 250, like Toronto is used to 416, and not 647.

Well, for BC, 604 and 250 is the most common.... I know alot of people hate 778.... they prefer 250 over 778. LOL!

Vancouver area is using code 604 and 778, elsewhere within the whole BC are all using 250, including the Capital city of BC, Victoria, therefore if FPL could introduce code 250 that would definitely be appreciated by customers. :)

I definitely understand that, when New York added 607, it wasn't really advertised, so EVERYONE hated it!

Fortunately they've accepted 607 as part of New Yorks ever expanding exchange, and that is just what our customers will have to do as well...

So, all that being said, will we ever see a 250 area code for freephoneline.ca

250 includes Victoria, Kelowna, Prince George, pretty much every place north of Vancouver, BC
