Hi!

I have a problem after converting to a new laptop with Win7. I have DellVoice running after installing the old Java Version 6.29.
However, when I place a call I can't hear anything but the initial ping until about 20s into the call. By that time most people have already hung up and answering machines have finished their announcement :(
Same Problem calling voicemail, the first thing I hear is about "personal options press 3".

This is of course unusable...

It works fine on the WinXP notebook behind the same router and same IP (not at the same time of course).

I ran TCPView and can see that the UDP connection over port 13000 and 13001 is established late just before I start hearing something. No such delay on WinXP. What can I do?

Update: the same problem if someone calls me. And it's actually both ways audio. They can't hear me nor can I hear them. Why is there such a delay on Win7?

This is the same issue that I have been facing. Just so happens that now I've been told by a couple of family members that they will no longer continue to call me on my dell voice line because that first 20 seconds is spent with both sides saying hello, hello, hello. Usually they just end up hanging up. Til now this has not been a problem, but I was hoping to drop my Bell line in favour of Dell voice.

As with 95% of the dell voice problems, this is with the pc application (hey who needs up to date java anyhow? not like that could cause security issues). I am using Win7, and after about 20 seconds there are no problems at all. Suddenly both sides can hear each other with no issues until the end of the call.

Is this a "feature" if we use the free version of Dell Voice? Or am I stuck with Bell for the forseeable future until another low cost VOIP option becomes available?
