Linksys PAP2 not ringing

Hi,

My phone line works perfectly except it does not ring. When a call comes in you see the name and number appear only once then it disapears, it should continue
to display who is calling. The phone is still ringing (when i am calling) then it goes to voicemail.

So are there any specific settings in the PAP 2 ?

I have tried Ring Waveform from Sinusoid (default) to Trapezoid and no different.

I did notice from "Info" it says "Call 1 Tone: None" could that be it? cant find it.

the phone works, tested it on a pots line.

Mines set to none also.. well it displays it under info so thats not the issue. Look under User and compare your ring settings with mine.. might help

Also make sure your ring voltage / frequency is set within' the limits of your handset.

I have the same ring frequency and voltage settings as leper1983. I took a regular wired phoned and plugged into PAP2 and it rings.

So its my cordless phone, its a new Vtec CS5111. Perhaps the frequency has to be different or higher voltage.

Sounds like that may be the case - Digital phones don't have a bell but a speaker with pre-defined voltage and tone ratings.

The default values we give you are a generic frequency and voltage used by almost every analog phone to date, but of course with changing technologies and more digital phones coming into play, that need specific numbers it's hard to note them all.
