Bell TV Recevier Dialing Out
I had a look at my call logs and noticed a toll free number being dialed out a few times an hour. I googled the number (888-292-3059) and it seems like its my Bell TV receivers trying to call out. Apparently they will keep trying until successful. Also, they should only call out once per month if it's working properly. I read that it can be fixed if you change a toll free setting to Canada. Is that something in the ATA I can change? Or is there something else I can do. I noticed the other day when I was on the phone is sounded like someone picked up another line and then hung up and didn't know what it was. It must have been the receiver trying to call out.

If you dial the number from your phone do you get through? I just tried and got a fax machine type answer.
Another thing to check would be your online logs, and see if the calls were getting through and for how long.

I get the same.. Fax machine it sounds like.. I was checking my logs when I found this. It seems it dials out about 11 times a day and lasts between 10-20 seconds each time. As I said from what I found online it appears thats the number the satellite receiver dials up to check in. But it's only supposed to do it once a month, but will keep trying until successful.

My guess would be that the call is trying, but maybe the quality of the VOIP line isn't good enough for the unit to talk to Bell on. I know mine dialls out and gets through OK.
Which ATA do you have? mine is using PAP2T which has a T38 codec in it, which I think helps with this sorts of thing.
