We can port any Canadian 11 digit number that is On-Net to us (Within' the areas we service). As far as I know only 819 and 450 are OFF-Net I will double check tomorrow though.

I think he is looking for a 'port my number' link.admin wrote:Which link do you mean? Or rather - What link are you looking for?
From what I understand you have to call in for that and fax some information (last phone bill, permission to move the number, etc).
Maybe he is looking for a page to explain all this, or should people just call in?

Hello,
Are their any limitations in porting *from* FPL? For example to another CLEC, Rogers, etc in the event that we wish to convert a number to a mobile or somesuch?

Currently you would have to be in one of the areas we as a company (Fibernetics CLEC) have CLEC status in, and of course have all the appropriate paperwork filled out on time
The two areas I'm aware that we cannot port are 450xxxxxxx and 819xxxxxxxx.

wouldnt you loose a lot of numbers that way? people creating numbers and then porting out just to get avoid new setup fees at say bell (if they want a real landline of course)admin wrote:Currently you would have to be in one of the areas we as a company (Fibernetics CLEC) have CLEC status in, and of course have all the appropriate paperwork filled out on time

I think Admin might have been referring to the original post with that response, not the one following it about porting out.bilaliz wrote:wouldnt you loose a lot of numbers that way? people creating numbers and then porting out just to get avoid new setup fees at say bell (if they want a real landline of course)admin wrote:Currently you would have to be in one of the areas we as a company (Fibernetics CLEC) have CLEC status in, and of course have all the appropriate paperwork filled out on time

Porting out won't happen unless you've paid for at least a config file - to prevent exactly what you said, people harvesting some free phone numbers to use elsewhere
