Extended Absence & Personal Greetings

Post by crusader9 »

I had a personal greeting recorded. Then I recorded an extended absence greeting. After going back into the greetings menu and selecting personal greetings, I chose to select my standard greeting again without rerecording (thinking it would be restored). Low and behold my personal greeting was wiped out! This does not seem logical.

What is the point of a having an extended absence greeting at the same time as a personal greeting if you can't select between them, moreso when the other one gets erased? I might as well just rerecord my personal greeting every time I need it to change.

For those who may be wondering, I would like to use a personal greeting for all my usual day to day voicemail notifications. However when I travel to the US, I would like to be able to select an "extended absence" greeting that tells the caller the mobile number I can be reached at in the US on any given day. When I return to Canada I'd like to simply be able to select my personal greeting again, then switch back and forth as I see fit.

Why is the VM system not working this way?
