No audio with Rogers New Enhanced N Gateway Modem
I recently changed my Rogers Internet modem to the new Enhanced N Gateway modem. It allows you to get the 25 and 50 Mbps download speeds with the DOCSIS 3.0 technology. Since this is a gateway modem with the router built in, I had to reconfigure all the port forwarding. I used to have the Linksys WRT54G router working great with my Linksys PAP2 but now I have no audio when making calls. I can make and receive calls but there is no audio at all, just dead air. I tried redoing all the port forwarding over and over again, ports 5060-5061 and it doesn't make a difference. The interesting thing is that I tried my Vbuzzer account and it works perfectly with no audio problems and no port forwarding. It sounds like all gateway modems cause problems with no audio. There has to be a way to get this new gateway to work with freephoneline.ca. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to fix this problem? Thanks

Re: No audio with Rogers New Enhanced N Gateway Modem
just wondering if any users out there are using this modem and what their results are?
I'm a bit stuck on ideas.. I'm not nearly as familiar with cable technology as I am DSL

Have you tried DMZ to your ATA? It would help you figure out if it's the rogers modem issue or not.

Re: No audio with Rogers New Enhanced N Gateway Modem
Hi there,
I have the exact same simptoms with a Rogers Westar Modem and a DSL connection. I just upgraded my router to a D-Link Dir-615 C1 Rev. 3.11NA Firmware.
I'm using Windows XP SP3. FPL Softphone worked well with a previous Netgear Router (Upgraded Router due to limited connectivity 5yrs old) . So, after setting all the ports 13000,13001,6060,6061,5050,5061. On all firewalls, windows and rogers online protection. The FPL Softphone Test comes up with the no audio for send/receive 13000 error.
I did ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, 13000and each of these ports on my cmd windows and for each I've determined that 4 transmissions pinged properly except for port 5061 which came back with 3 of 4, then 2/4 transmissions.
I really am determined to make it work. I'm just not sure how to make port 13000 stay open. My router application rules include all these UDP ports, I also tried port forwarding but I keep getting application Firewall conflict and nothing. D-Link support is not very helpfull.
Has anyone been successfull with this router and the FPL Softphone?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks.
ERL

Re: No audio with Rogers New Enhanced N Gateway Modem
why you opens all those ports?
FOR PC (desktop phone application): UDP: (13000,13001)
FOR ATA (PAP2T): UDP: (5060, 53, 69, *****-*****)

Re: No audio with Rogers New Enhanced N Gateway Modem
I don't have this modem but this should do the job ....
1. change the SIP Port for 6060 in Line 1
2. in SIP take note the RTP Port Min and RTP Port Max numbers
3. open ports UDP: (6060, 53, 69, *****-*****)
(*****-***** mean RTP Port Min to RTP Port Max)

Re: No audio with Rogers New Enhanced N Gateway Modem
for the FPL Softphone just change the port ...
click menu/settings/others/
in audio port change the port
open this port
lets see if this fix something
