I have just downloaded and installed the softphone. I have configured my Win 7 firewall to allow the 13000-13001 UDP and I have a Linksys Router running Tomato open source router software with port forwarding to my address on my home network. When I start the software it starts up and gets connected no problem. When I run the test connection it says the connection is ok but just keeps testing and I don't get an answer on the audio portion of the test.
When I call my work phone it works ..... once. The next time I dial that or any number it says calling ..... then nothing. If I shut down softphone and restart it (the restart option in the software doesn't work ???) I can dial one number and that is it - same thing.
What do you mean by the restart function of the softphone doesn't work? - Any what av software are you using, you may need to either disable it or create a rule to allow it access - What do you see when the phone starts up? Is it connecting at all?

The soft phone has a "restart" function in the main menu. I assume this "cycles" the app and restarts new. Kind of like the restart function in windows.
I press it in the soft phone app and it just goes away but never comes back. I have to manually start it again.
AV software - like media players? media conversion programs?
I have AIMP and Windows Media Player. I also have Nero showtime but never use it.

I am running MS Security Essentials. I have fiddled with the firewall and the port forwarding on my wrt54gs router and still have the problem with it working only once. Then I have to restart the application to make another call.
I have also tried re-installing the software. Didn't help. I run the test and I get ok on the first test for connectivity but the audio test never finishes. I turned off MS Essentials as well - no change.
I am really at a loss as to what to try next. I may try a different port from 13000. See if that works. I assume the 6060, 6061,5060,5061 stay the same?
Does the software phone give you two IP address choices when you start it up?

This is what happens when I run the test ..... it gives the result of Call Service OK. It never completes the "Sound Data Transfer" - it just keeps going and going .....

Also, another curious thing is it sometimes won't hang up when I hit the hangup button ......

I downloaded the new version of the softphone and it seems to be working fine. I am assuming you did find a bug?
Also, if I could recommend that folks use the freeware program called "Simple Port Forwarding" - just google it. It makes the job of port forwarding really easy (excellent for beginners and experts) and covers many many different router brands and even covers the latest open source Linux software for running on Linksys Routers.
