"Can't connect to login server" about twice a day

Hello,

i am a new user with a SIP setup on a Linksys PAP2T-NA box.

I configured everything on Saturday and although it works, about twice a day the line 1 light goes off and in the settings I get the error:
Registration State: Can't connect to login server
After a reboot, or wait for the countdown to retry it reconnects.

I had the register expires set to 180 seconds, I changed it to 181 just in case.

I've been having the same problems for over a week now since I ported my number from Bell. except I think it's more than twice a day. I've increased my registration time to 3600 sec in hopes of fewer dropouts. I've sent support requests to Fongo without any replies as yet...

Are both of your problems happening during a call or not?

After a call I've noticed it dropped but also random. I'll just walk in the room and notice the line 1 light is out, I look at the interface and see the error I mentioned above but I don't do anything, i just let it try again until it connects.

Ok so it's not happening during the call only before and after? Seems to be more of an isolated issue, perhaps it's your router/modem forwarding &/or routing etc..?

Not sure, do i need to setup any form of port forwarding on my router? All other traffic passes fine.

I was speaking to a friend of mine who has been on it far longer than I have. He mentioned he was having a similar problem a few months ago and it had to do something with freephonline adding a new server. He posted on here I believe and they did something on their end. He's been fine ever since... Does that tell you anything?

In the Voip community today, there are many different types of isolated to common *fixable* problems. Maybe what ever worked for your friend might Not work for you and others. The funny thing is though sometimes the simple problems & simple solutions we forget to look over.

you can post what you have configured and i can see... but perhaps you just need a full factory reset and configure accordingly. (you don't need stun - also set expire to 3600 for freephoneline)
