Re: port 13000
This has to do with your router. Port UDP 13000 and UDP 13001 should be open on your router so that the VoIP data can transfer through it. Without this open it is possible that you will not send or receive sound.

Re: port 13000
If you have a router, you need to call the manufacturer of the device and ask them to open UDP ports 13000, 13001, 5060, and 5061 -- Open windows firewall :
Vista :
Start > Control Panel > Security > Windows Firewall > Change Settings > Exceptions
(Make sure Freephoneline.exe is added as an exception)
Add Port >
Name: Freephoneline 13000
Port: 13000
Protocol: UDP
Click "OK" > Repeat for 13001, 5060, and 5061.
WinXP :
Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall > Exceptions
(Make sure Freephoneline.exe is added as an exception)
Add Port >
Name: Freephoneline 13000
Port: 13000
Protocol: UDP
Click "OK" > Repeat for 13001, 5060, and 5061.
Vista :
Start > Control Panel > Security > Windows Firewall > Change Settings > Exceptions
(Make sure Freephoneline.exe is added as an exception)
Add Port >
Name: Freephoneline 13000
Port: 13000
Protocol: UDP
Click "OK" > Repeat for 13001, 5060, and 5061.
WinXP :
Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall > Exceptions
(Make sure Freephoneline.exe is added as an exception)
Add Port >
Name: Freephoneline 13000
Port: 13000
Protocol: UDP
Click "OK" > Repeat for 13001, 5060, and 5061.

Is it possible to change the 13000 port to a default SIP 5600?

Re: port 13000
I'm trying to setup my softphone to test.. and have opened ALL the UDP mentioned.. and my TEST still says "Port 13000 should be available".
I even disabled the Win7 firewall to make sure it wasn't blocking anything even though I even opened those ports in it's firewall too.
My router/firewall is port redirecting UDP ports 5060-5061, 6060-6061 and 13000-130001 to my internal private ip.
any advice?

nope.. not using any of those.. I'm only using Microsoft's Security Essentials which is "supposed" to be their version of a virus scanner. (which I may add actually runs well and isn't a resource hog!)admin wrote:Do you have any other firewall / anitvirus? McAfee, Norton, AVG... Live OneCare.

Re: port 13000
What happens when you trying to get an incoming call? What error does the caller get?
Also go into Settings and add FreePhoneLine.exe under Excluded Files and Locations in MSE.

I made the change in MSE and still no change in the TEST. "Port 13000 should be available"admin wrote:Also go into Settings and add FreePhoneLine.exe under Excluded Files and Locations in MSE.

Re: port 13000
This message is usually followed by "Please leave a message" right?.. This does indicate that something is blocking traffic travelling to your software phone, what router are you using? It could have a firewall built into it.jgionet76 wrote:"The person you are trying to reach is unavailable" (something like that)

I have a Linksys WRT54G running Tomato v1.25.
I know my port forwarding work as I have other ports going to the same box for Remote Desktop (port 3389) and I also have a SSH port forward to another box I have.
Could another ATA device be doing this? I have my main one running right now for my lan line.. and the new PAP2T I'm testing right now. None of these 2 devices have any port-forwards setup for them.

Re: port 13000
This may seem like a dumb question, but have you power cycled your ATA? Your IP could have changed. If your two ATA are combating for the same ports that could be the issue yes.

Re: port 13000
well.. I changed my UDP port to 334.. updated my port forward.. updated my firewall.. yet when I try to run the test again it sill spits out the "port 1300 should be avail"FPL-steve wrote:Yep - it's in the menu > settingsjgionet76 wrote:is it possible to change the port the program uses?

I tried a test by putting tcp/usp port 13000 to port forward to port 3389 (remote desktop port) to see if I could scan the port using a web-based port scanning tool and it told me it was able to communicate with it.. so this tells me that the port forward works.. and that it's not being blocked by my provider.
has anybody else tested this software on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit?
edit: I guess I had to restart the app so it would start using the new port.. I did this and now it just says "port 334 should be avail"

Re: port 13000
just updated to the latest version available for download v2.2.2.0 and it still doesn't work! It hates me! lol
doest this software only work from certain service locations? or should this work worldwide if the proper ports are opened?
I've confirmed that my port-forwards work.. so I really don't know what else could be blocking the traffic..

Re: port 13000
ok.. so when I was doing tests on udp port 13000 with this UDP test tool 2.5 I couldn't get traffic to reach my home computer.
so what I did is switch the port to 33 and I was able to see the UDP requests.. so I changed the port to 33 in the FPL software and ran another test.. still getting the same error for port 33.
if I change this port do I have to change any of the others?
this is so frustrating.. I really want this to work!!

Re: port 13000
guys? help?!
I really need help getting this going.. I need to test this stuff before purchasing a config file. (which I plan on doing once you have service in Sudbury, Ontario)
what am I doing wrong? can you test my number from over there? Like I've said, the udp I'm using right now is 33 since 13000 didn't seem to work.. and I've made sure my computer is receiving traffic for that port from another location. I can check my voicemail no problem using the softphone.
