Incoming/outgoing calls not working at times
Hello,
My phone has problem everyday. While I appreciate the kind service offered by freephoneline company, I am a little upset now. I used to advertise this company a lot in all my social meetings and office gatherings. I am not sure if I can continue to do that after perennial problem during last one month or so.
The problem is at times the incoming calls do not go through and other times the outgoing calls do not go through. And at times the phone just goes blank without any dial tone. I have to remove the power plug and put it again to reboot; and then it starts working. This has now to be done a couple of times a day (not even weeks or months, but everyday). I am not at home during the day; and the children do not know what to do. We do not even realize that phone is not working until we pick the phone. We missed the calls during this period.
Please please please help.
I read the first customer support thread that says to write email to customer service. I wrote, but there is no response after even after 3 days. I am writing it here if I can get some help.

Re: Incoming/outgoing calls not working at times
I have the same issue but no help available and now there is no phone support. I am not sure if everyone is experience the same issue. I literally reboot more than 5-6 times a day. I would suggest to freephoneline to charge a fee and change the name but at least give us a break from this unlimited outage every single day
Re: Incoming/outgoing calls not working at times
There's MASSIVE problems right now. I'm new to the service about 5 weeks and my phone barely works. But it's so cheap I'm willing I wait for them to fix the problems. Luckily I have a cell. You can send them
A "ticket" as they requested in another thread so they can look at your account. I gave mine about a week ago and it's being looked at. Actually my phone doesn't work right now but I'm on their list. Lol.

Re: Incoming/outgoing calls not working at times
I have been using this service for about 7-8 months now. It worked fine for first 6 months. It is only in last 1 or 2 months that I am facing all sorts of problems. I am not sure what are the company's plans and how it wants to deal with it. This also raises a question mark 'Whether it is serious in providing this service?' It is for the company officials to come out and speak about it. Otherwise customers will be forced to seek other options soon.
Re: Incoming/outgoing calls not working at times
Curious but are you still having problems? I am. Phone seems to work in the morning but conks out in the afternoon.

Re: Incoming/outgoing calls not working at times
I just started having this problem this morning. Its strange because it only affects certain phone numbers.
Re: Incoming/outgoing calls not working at times
In the last few months I have many problems with incoming calls, and today even outgoing calls don't go through.
I'm using FFL for several years and it worked flawlessly, but lately it definitely went downhill, and no help is available. (They ask you to post your questions in this forums to get help from other users).
So - it's nice that's the service is free, but I wish they charged some amount but provided more reliable service.
Maybe it's time to switch providers.

Mines not free. I'm not part of Free Phone Line or whatever it's called. I pay $5 a month. So both services are not working too well I guess.

Re: Incoming/outgoing calls not working at times
The company needs to do something fast to keep the customers happy. Not even great happy, but at least make sure that the phone service works the way it is supposed to be. I am not sure what went wrong in last couple of months only??????????????
Re: Incoming/outgoing calls not working at times
Agreed this needs to get fixed. Quick. It's been well over a month. Yesterday I was home sick in bed and put my iPhone on Do Not Disturb and the wife was trying to text and call my cell then the Fhongo line....she couldn't get through since it conks out in the afternoon.

Re: Incoming/outgoing calls not working at times
I haven't had this in a few weeks, but is it possible it's "switching issue congestion"? Check your call logs. Sometimes I get this issue, I will dial a number, and it doesn't go through... I check the call logs later, and this is printed under the "disconnect reason". Obviously switching congestion is a fongo capacity issue, every now and then they don't have enough lines/trunks to meet demand at peak hours. When this happens I have to re-dial multiple times, and eventually it goes through.
Re: Incoming/outgoing calls not working at times
Yes, it happened today again at around 4-5pm. I had to reboot my ATA and it started working. It's not easy to replicate since it happens randomly and then it may start to work by itself. When incoming calls don't work, there is nothing in the call log.

Re: Incoming/outgoing calls not working at times
Incoming calls to my Fongo Home Line not working almost daily all January. No problems for 4 months....until January!
Incoming calls randomly work/dont work. Once I reboot the Fongo home phone box it starts working again for a while.
Having to reboot my Fongo Home Phone box almost daily. - Two other customers I know were having the same problem until they cancelled Fongo a couple weeks ago.
Is there anyone from Fongo monitoring these forums..... please confirm that this is a known issue and indicate when it will be resolved.
Thanks

That, at a time when the boards are full of complaints about calls not working.
Now, what?
Here's an idea:

Re: Incoming/outgoing calls not working at times
I did this as per support suggestion and it seems to have solved the problem with incoming calls not working:
1. Pick up the phone plugged into the Fongo phone adapter
2. Dial ***, #, 02, and write down the IP Address it reads (usually 192.168.xxx.xxx)
3. Hang up the phone
4. Open a web browser (eg. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome), type the IP Address in the address bar at the top of your screen and press Enter
5. In the Password field, type: admin
6. Click the Login button
7. Click the FXS Port link on the right side of the menu bar
8. Find the "NAT Traversal(STUN)"and change the setting from "No" to "No, but send keep alive"
9. Click on update
10. Adapter will now reboot
