I have been using my Freephoneline since Dec 6, 2012. My home phone number was ported over on Jan 15, 2013. The service is fine most of the time but for a period of time each day, we get a busy on all outgoing calls. The numbers are not busy since we can immediately call them on a cell phone. A subsequent redial via the home phone gets a busy again.
I have gone through with a router and ata power down and restart. This does not usually resolve the issue. The service was down this morning Jan 24, 2013 and I went through the power down restart for the router and ata, but still not working. About 45 minutes later the we had an incoming call and the phone is still working at this point 1:20 pm.
Any ideas as to what is happening? My internet service is up and working consistently.

Re: VOIP service is sporadic
I'm sorry you ported over your phone number. All of a sudden two weeks ago my freephonelines stopped working through my ATA. No one "seems" to know why. I tried everything I could think of. I rebooted my modem/router and my ATA several times. I entered the suggested SIP settings into my adapter several times. I checked that all the proper ports in my modem/router were open and they were. I even updated my ATA's firmware to the latest version. After doing all that and getting nowhere, I signed up with another VoIP provider and entered all of their SIP settings into my adapter and voila. It worked just fine. The phone line lit up and I got a dial tone. After purchasing credits I was able to make outgoing calls and receive incoming calls with no problem. The quality was actually better than freephoneline's ever was. I find it quite interesting how all of a sudden many people are having issues with freephoneline but members of fongo don't seem to be having the same ones. It seems like freephoneline/fongo made some sort of changes somewhere that my adapter is no longer compatible with. Do they want freephoneline users to subscribe and pay for fongo Home Phone perhaps? Something seems real fishy here. The problem with freephoneline and fongo now is if you have a problem, it's almost impossible to get it resolved because they have no tech support. That's a huge risk no one should take. If I knew that I would have these problems now before I signed up and paid for the configuration files, I never would have. It's not worth it. It would be like having a landline for a few years and then all of a sudden it stopped working and no one could figure out why and there was no tech support you could call. Other VoIP providers work fine with my ATA but all of a sudden freephoneline does not. The mystery continues...

hi Bill,
When I was on the phone with you yesterday afternoon, (about a 40 minute call) please remember I was able to configure an ATA on our end using your account and place calls with it (including a call to you) While troubleshooting, you and I proved the issue was not with your account or the service. That issue is somewhere with your set-up or configuration. I believe that earlier this week Fongo_Steve also tested your account in our office and came to the same results.

Yeah, right...that's because you have a crappy configuration!billcanada wrote:... The quality was actually better than freephoneline's ever was. ...
So, does this confirm that billcanada was afflicted with the dreaded id 10T error code?FONGO_mike wrote: hi Bill,

Re: VOIP service is sporadic
I do not believe for one moment that the problem is on my end otherwise other VoIP providers would not work with my ATA. I must have tried about 5 different VoIP providers over the years and all of them worked with my ATA. freephoneline was working too until a few weeks ago around the same time when others started having problems. There are still people having problems with fpl now. I read in the forum yesterday that freephoneline added a new server. I don't know anything about servers but since I can't connect to the login server I think there is a problem with the specific server my ATA is trying to connect to. Every single fpl user would not be connecting to the same login server. I'm guessing that because of my location my ATA is trying to connect to this specific screwed up server. You are connecting to a different server from a different area so I believe that is why you are able to connect. Am I to believe that everyone who's having issues now that the problem is on their end? There was even something posted by fpl that said "fpl customers are not able to connect or call. We are working to resolve this issue and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause." Well the issue clearly has not been resolved. I don't understand how everything on my end was fine one minute and then all of a sudden both of my lines could no longer connect to the login server. Nothing changed on my end. I didn't adjust any settings in my ATA or modem/router. Telling someone the problem is on their end when it isn't will not solve the issue. fpl needs to check the server my ATA is trying to log in to. Thank you.

Bill,
don't forget that although your set-up with the ATA was not working, you were still able to log in and connect to the servers using the softphone form your computer (even though due to the Java conflict, the dial pad doesn ot work in the way it is intended. This again leads to an issue with the onfiguration. Yes, we have had service affecting issues, however, this is not the issue you are experiencing in this case.

What do you mean, yeah right? Are you psychic? So you know what I have in my configuration settings? Well the "crappy" configuration I used is the same one suggested in the forum. Don't be ridiculous.
