Incoming / outgoing call delays
I have Linksys WRTP54G 2FXS, since last 2 weeks there is ridiculous amount of delay when someone calls, they hear ringing after 25 seconds of delay. Same thing happens when I call out, delay of about 25 seconds to connect the number.
My ATA is directly connected to Modem (which is router too). I did not even change any settings and I am using this ATA since last 1 and half year
any suggestions experts?? I have already sent an email to support but not sure how long will it take to respond.
Thank yo

Re: Incoming / outgoing call delays
I was tinkering with a Linksys SPA2100 I had lying around. I was having trouble dialing out as well. I would dial a number and it would take about 15 seconds to connect. I replaced the dial plan and it solved the problem. Copy and paste this dial plan exactly as shown including beginning and end round brackets into your ATA settings and see if it makes a difference. Don't forget to click Save.
( [23456789]11 | *xxx. | <:1>[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxxS0 | 1[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxxS0 | 011xxxxxxx. | [#*x][*x][*x][*x][*x][*x][*x][*x][*x][*x][*x][*x]. )
Copy your old dial string just in case this doesn't work for you.

when dialing out, after dialing the destination number, dial the # key. it is possible it is waiting for more numbers to be dialed and # should help initiate the call quicker.

Mike,
I tried dialing # key but same delay and what about in coming calls? I can PM you my number to test it, there is delay of more than 30 seconds in incoming calls, most people are hanging up after getting no response after 10 seconds since they are not used to wait for that long

Please help, as expected waiting to hear from Support since last 2 weeks...

Re: Incoming / outgoing call delays
Have you upgraded your adapter to the latest firmware? Have you tried using the freephoneline softphone on your computer to make and receive calls to see if there is still a delay? Do you have UDP ports 5060-5061, 6060-6061 and 13000-13001 open in your modem/router?

In this case, i do not think it would be related to the ports, testing using the soft phone would help indicate if it is related to the configuration of your device, and updating the firmware would confirm there is no issue in that aspect.

Re: Incoming / outgoing call delays
You can try the link below for your router/adapter at Cisco's website as well. It has a FAQ section and forums that might help. You can download the user guide and data sheet there too. You said you did a reset but did you do a factory reset? That would reset your adapter back to the factory defaults. If you did a basic reset then that would have left your settings as they were and you want to put everything back to when it was new. Upgrade to the latest firmware for it as well. If you still aren't getting anywhere and the delay really bothers you then I would suggest buying a new VoIP adapter. They are more reasonably priced now than when they first came out years ago. You said you have an internet modem/router in one so just buy a basic VoIP adapter without any bells and whistles.
