What is going on? All incoming going straight to VM.
I don't understand what is up with FPL. Even though there were various other issues in the past, I did have several days of continuous service in Jan. For the past 3 days, for no reason whatsoever (no changes on my end), all incoming calls are going to VM. Rebooting sometimes tends to make it work again but in general nothing works permanently and at anytime it reverts back to going straight to VM. This is ridiculous as I am missing virtually all calls.
I noted that I am not the only one with this issue. Also I saw on another thread one of the moderator suggesting to change the reregistration time to 3600 secs (even though their own posted setup sheet for the HT701 does not say this) but that has not worked for me either. Can someone from Fongo please address this issue as I notice they just stay silent even though people are posting this complaint. Or if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this... please help.
I am using Grandstream HT 701 and have followed the setup instructions that were posted in the FPL forum.
Thanks.

Heh! Can edit posts but can't comment on what is obviously an issue affecting quite a few users. Pathetic.

Same issue here... I don't receive calls for the last 10 days. Initially, I thought my ATA problem. I have reconfigured it and still the same issue. Sometimes the phone call rings and majority of time is not and goes straight to the VM.

And if that doesn't work, maybe we can dig up the email and phone numbers of the CEO, CTO and maybe some VP's. Time to light some fires under peoples butts.

I have same problem since last week, when I checked voip.freephoneline.ca ip address, IP address changing everytime to 208.65.240.170 to 208.65.240.165. I am running asterisk server. Outgoing calls working OK, but incoming calls not working. if I change host address as 208.65.240.170 incoming call OK then after little while ip address changing to 208.65.240.165, and incoming call not working, because not registering. The IP address changing too frequently.

Re: What is going on? All incoming going straight to VM.
FPL now using proxy, so when you nslookup voip.freephoneline.ca, you will see both the above two IP are there. The problem is:rob822 wrote:I have same problem since last week, when I checked voip.freephoneline.ca ip address, IP address changing everytime to 208.65.240.170 to 208.65.240.165. when your asterisk register to an IP for example x.x.x.170, and if a incoming call go through x.x.x.165 and reach your server, you will get "Sending fake auth rejection for device ......." error and call rejected then VM is activated.
I have no solution but work around is register to IP.... any good idea?

I have same issue. And no answer and support from PFL. I don't understand why they are running business like this. So disppointed with their service.

Same problem here! Calls are going straight to VoiceMail, when I reset ATA+PBXES.org it works for a while and then calls go to VM again. Has anyone received any info from Freephoneline team?

You're joking, right? They only reply to threads that are not technical in nature because they don't understand what has been posted. @rtgraydon has been on Twitter since I tweeted him, we'll see if that goes anywhere.pcdunlop wrote:Has anyone received any info from Freephoneline team?

***edit
Only boaters are expected to relate to above statements.
Seriously, if ALL INCOMING CALLS are going straight to VM, then it may not be at Fongo's end. Fongo has connection problems but your calling party should be able to reach you after a few retries. I hope Fongo can find/hire someone who knows how to fix/run a VOIP server correctly.

We're on to something here...... I too am not getting incoming calls.... I changed the voip.freephoneline.com to IP 208.65.240.170 and it instantly woked.
I'm guessing they are using the proxy for load balancing between multiple servers? They should be able to do this with IP. I used to have primus and they used a straight ip , although I'm sure there was many servers behind the one ip. this also means if ISP DNS goes down your phone wont.
Outgoing calls are never an issue as when you make a call any server knows who you are and is able to complete the call.... however on an incoming call the server has to be aware of where to find you.... If your flip flopping between two dumb servers not in sync then no wonder incoming calls dont work, It cant find you.. example someone calls you which hits server cluster one..... but your currently registered to server cluster two.... if the two clusters arent synced then to voicemail you go!
The real question is why hasnt FPL resolved this? It's been going on since dec.
does anyone know if FONGO is any more reliable? I'd be willing to pay the $5 a month for reliable service. Do they allow you to Bring your own ata? I'm happy with my cisco and would rather not use their Grand Junk ata
FPL please ! get a service update page... we get free service = no support but at least give us a place to look at for network status and fix this issue!

I won't comment on the rest you wrote apart from saying I agree with it.jking2175 wrote:FPL please ! get a service update page... we get free service = no support but at least give us a place to look at for network status and fix this issue!
The thing I wanted to say was that they do have an update page, but unless they know/admit that there is a problem, they are unlikely to add it to this page. http://status.fongo.com/

I had the same problem this morning here in Waterloo, changed the voip.freephoneline.ca to IP 208.65.240.170 and it works now (Linksys PAP2T).

Please be advised that using IP instead of DNS is a bad practice and it should NOT be done. Our recommendation is to change it back to voip.freephoneline.ca. That being said, this is being investigated as we speak and a resolution will be provided, please stay tuned.
Thank you for your understanding,
