Lost sound when using router

Post by kuzz »

Hello,

I'm using the freephoneline softphone. After I've installed a wireless router (TPLink Tl-WR720N) while I still have no problem connecting to the server and making calls but the sound is lost (I can't hear anything on the other end). When I connect my cable modem directly to the computer, everything is back to normal.... what should I change maybe in my router settings to get the sound back?

Thank you.

Make sure the correct ports are forwarded to the right IP. When you switch from wired to wireless your router may issue you with a new IP, so if you have it all set up on your old IP you may need to change it.

This says it is for the ATA, but I think it applies to the softphone as well http://support.freephoneline.ca/entries ... talled-ATA

Port forward and make sure you disable SIP ALG function in the router. I causes more troubles than it help.
