Cannot hear the person called

Post by jmichelw »

I used an OBI100 and I can receive call with no problem. However, when I call someone, the person hears me but I don't hear the person.

Dialing **9 followed by 222 222 222 works fine. But dialing **9 followed by 333 333 333 does not work. It is rejected by the service provider. The reason given is 404.

Can someone help me to fix it? Is there something I need to set properly in the OBI100?

Hello there,

It looks like a router issue. Can you check your router settings and ensure that SIP ALG is disabled?

To test, connect OBI straight to the modem first.

Thanks,

When I connect the OBI to the modem, I can hear the other person, regardless whether I call or he calls.
When I connect the OBI through the router, I cannot hear anymore, regardless whether I call or he calls. Before, I could hear the other person, when he calls.
How do I disable the SIP ALG?

Hello there,

If your router has sip alg, you should disable it.

If the router has no sip alg, you will need to look into port forwarding on your router to match the ports used by OBI.

Thanks,

My router, Trendnet TEW-432BRP, I believe, has no sip alg. How do I forward the ports used by OBI to the router? Do I go to Access/Virtual server or Special AP on my router to do that?

try changing the sip server to voip2.freephoneline.ca. There seemed to be to much problem with voip.freephoneline.ca in the past month
