No connection to server

I can't seem to get my FPL App to connect to the server. No changes on my end. Is the service down this eve?

Using 3.0.3.0

I'll try and see if there is a newer version. Always have trouble getting to the download page.

Thanks.

I reinstalled, and it appears to be the same version...

Perhaps something to do with Java? It looks like it may have been updated since I last used FPL. Currently on java version: build 1.6.0_31-b05

I'm having the same issue with the desktop application... I tried it on 2 different computers (Windows 7 and Mac) and both stated "No connection to the server"... I uninstalled and re-installed on both using the newest desktop application version from the download page, but still not working... On my MAC, I tested the connection by going --> Help - Test Connection and the results came back as "Passed"... Is the service down?

I have the same problem started yesterday. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the new app. Still not working. Since it happened all of a sudden, is there any problem with the fongo's server?

Hello,

Thanks for the update. It does appear as though I can make outgoing calls now. However... I am unable to hear anything.

When I punch in the number, I hear the tones from the number pad, but once I hit the call button I don't hear anything further. No rings, can't hear the person pick up, or voice mail prompts.

I tested calling my cell, the call did go through, and I was able to leave a message but on the FPL end I wasn't able to hear anything. I checked my message and it sounded great. So sound is going out but not coming in.

I just ran the connection test function and the results were:

"Data transfer: Unable to send/receive sound data! Port 13000 should be available."

Thanks.

Tried that on a couple routers without any positive results. Good luck though!

Just reporting back on this issue... With the new version, like what others had reported, I'm now able to call out but the incoming is still not working... I'm not able to receive any calls... However, if the call is forwarded to another number ("Follow Me" setting is enabled), it seems that it is able to forward it... Thanks!

I normally connect via wifi to my LinkSys WRT160N V3, however it is running DD-WRT and currently acting as a repeater bridge. I also tried connecting to my main modem/router which is a Cisco DPC3825. I set both routers to forward port 13000 to the internal IP trying to run FPL.

The results were both the same, I could call out or receive calls but there was only one-way audio. They could hear me, but I could not hear any audio.

This setup has not changed in a long time, and ran the previous version of FPL fine from either router, until a couple of days ago.

Thanks.

Have some advice that worked for me with regards to the windows app.

Could not get a connection to server either so I uninstalled old version (3.0.0), downloaded and installed newest version (3.2.6). Was able to get connection but wasn't receiving incoming calls. To fix this I had to remove the old version of freephoneline from the Window Firewall exceptions tab and then add the new version. Seemed to fix the problem for me. Did not need to do any port forwarding.

For those not sure where to find it: Control Panel --> Windows Firewall --> Exceptions tab --> select freephoneline and then click delete, then click add program and select freephoneline. Keep clicking okay until you are out of windows firewall and all should be good.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tips. I actually did try that, and also tried FPL with the firewall turned off completely... So strange.

Tried both in Win7 and Mac tonight and everything seems to be working fine... For Win7, I did not do anything unusual... I only uninstalled the old app and re-installed the new one and everything worked fine...I did not touch the firewall or port forwarding settings...

For Mac, I installed it a few days ago, but at that time, I was not getting any incoming calls... Tonight, I tried to do both on my Mac and everything's working as well... Thanks everyone!

No connection to server

Post by 200M »

My connection use to work. When I run "test connection", it keeps saying "server temporary unavailable". I have a direct connection to the modem. Is the service down? Fongo's web page reports no problem.

Any advice?
