why is my post deleted?

I posted about an hour ago that Fongo doesn't work on my Galaxy s2. Incoming doesn't ring, voicemail is hit & miss. No outgoing either. Can someone help?

If you are anything like me, you probably used the preview button instead of the post button.

To answer your question. It is the router/ISP that you are currently using that is not playing nice. Fongo has no control over incoming packets. It is up to the router/ISP to handle where to properly send the correct incoming packets, and in your case, it is doing a piss poor job. Tear a strip off their ear to get them to fix this problem, otherwise it will never get fixed. I can tell you Fongo cannot do anything to fix NAT issues, because the problem is not on their end.

What do you have for a router, or are you using 3G. Rogers by chance?

Hi bridonca, thanks for your reply. I could see my post when click "view your posts" but it just disappeared after a while :-(

I am also using other VOIP service and there is no problem with my other VOIP phone number. Only Fongo is not working. So it's probably not my ISP. By the way, I don't use my ISP's DNS. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Again, I have to say, it is very unlikely the problem is on Fongo's end. Other VOIP carriers, with various degrees of success, attempt to use tricks to get around NAT issues. The problem with these tricks is that really do not permanently fix the problem. You will have NAT issues eventually.

The only advice I can offer, is to manually forward ports from the router to the ATA, and hope the router is up to snuff when it comes to SIP VOIP. Be aware of the RTP ports the PAP2 needs, I believe the default RTP ports on the PAP2 are from 16384 to 16482, so forward those.

After you save everything, make sure you turn everything off, the modem, ATA, and router. Sometimes the devices try to keep the old settings, and a power cycle fixes that.
