I have a 514 area code phone number (non Fongo) which I entered when I registered my new account. Now, I can't get past the activation process. However many times I clicked the "Call me now" button, on different days, and different hours, I never receive any call. I'm supposed to receive a call and be told a confirmation code to enter, but my phone never rings.
I tried calling myself using another phone. It rings fine.
Anyone has any idea why this would happen?
Thanks!

Re: Not receiving activation call
Going out on the limb here but....your phone should
1.Give you a dial tone when you pick up your handset - these days on electronic phones when you press talk.
- The dial tone you hear indicates that the network is signaling to you that it is ready. If you get no dial tone your ATA is not registered - you are not connected the network
2. Once you get a dial tone dial a number - any number. This action should 'break' the dial tone.
- I you can't break the dial tone you can't signal outward, toward the network.
3. If you get this far, try to make a call - we call this "outgoing call".
- Check that you can hear the other end talking - on both phones.
4. Call your FONGO number, or arrange a friend to call. This is called "incoming call"
- Check to make sure you can communicate both ways, also check voice quality.
Obviously if all the steps work, you have a working phone. If not, report back to Tech Support which step fails. This will help to sort out the problem. Until you get this far there is no need go worry about features such as voice mail, call forwarding, etc.

Re: Not receiving activation call
I think he is stuck on actually trying to GET an account. It sounds like he is no where near actually testing the FPL system.
Sbilodeau, PM your details to Fongo Support and ask him to activate your account. In the past this has come up where the activation call does not get sent for some reason. Staff members were able to activate it manually in the past though.

Re: Not receiving activation call
Yes, Jake is right, I can't even get an account.
To get an account, I need to tie it with a non-Fongo number. I provide a number, and they're supposed to call it and I would hear a confirmation number, which I then input on the web site. But I never get called.
I emailed support, and they suggested I try with a different phone number. I did, and did not get called either.
I tried 2 other phone numbers. I also tried clicking the "Call me now" button from different browsers, different computers, different networks. There isn't much more to try. I guess I will need a manual activation as Jake suggested. I will reply to the support email and ask for this.
Thanks!
