I don't see a setting for it in the FPL application. But maybe there is some kind host file hack we can do to forward our system requests to voip2...stoylesa wrote:I second the question "Is it possible to change to voip2.freephoneline.ca for the desktop version?"

Re: One Way Audio
Hello...
I found that most of the accounts with clearpointel.ca that I have got the same issue (only receive incoming call but can not hear people from out side; or no incoming audio; can not call out )
I try to change to SIP server: voip.clearpointel.ca OR voip2.freephoneline.ca: It works fine.
So I can say that any one who have the accounts with clearpointel.ca have the trouble connection with voip.freephoneline.ca.
Are your accounts also with Clearpointel.ca ?

Re: One Way Audio
I was in fact able to 'fix' my one way audio issue by modifying my hosts file. This is probably just a temp fix, as I don't know how static the FPL IP addresses are. Anyway for the short term this worked for me. Add the following line to your windows "hosts" file:SudoHacks wrote:I don't see a setting for it in the FPL application. 208.65.240.165 voip.freephoneline.ca
This sends all requests for voip.freephone.line.ca to the IP address that is actually voip2.freephoneline.ca
Yay I have sound!

Re: One Way Audio
I have a different issue...
I can make & receive all calls OK except I cannot call my mother lol there is totally no dial tone after number is dialed (she also has FPL) but she can call me just fine
It's ONLY her number I can't call...it's been like that for last 3 days or so...how do we fix that? What could be the issue?
Thanks for any advice

Find another phone and tell your mom to dial *80, wait for dial tone and hang up.
Test if you can call her after that. If you can, then somebody had accidentally pressed *60 on her phone the last time you called, *80 cancels that call blocking.
***edit
However, I expect that if your number was blocked, your call should be forwarded to voicemail but you said that there is totally no dial tone after number is dialed...hence I am puzzled.

Re: One Way Audio
***********ONE WAY AUDIO FIX*************
I was having the same one way outgoing call audio issue with one of my lines (FPL computer app free line) but not the other line (number ported with config file). I read in another post that you need to PM "Fongo Support" telling them about your one way audio issues, also include your telephone number and they will look into and fix the issue. So sure enough I did exactly that PMed Fongo Support and they mentioned that they deleted a follow me number on the account and to reset everything at my end. Suddenly my other line is now working fine.

Re: One Way Audio
A FIX, AT LEAST FOR ME..........
I had the same problem with one way audio and I have Cisco SPA 112 modem and Airport Extreme router. I could talk with a Fongo user with no problems, audio both ways, but with somebody else just one way when I was placing the call. So , after calling Apple and Cisco technical support I found out that I have to be sure that UDP port 5060, 13000, 13001 are open in Airport Extreme. After I did this everything is running how is supposed to, audio both ways ,when I place and receive the calls does not matter who I talk to.So far everything is ok, hope is gonna stay this way.....For how to open ports in Airport Extreme just google it , depends what version and firmware you have, and do not forget to assign your ATA modem a static IP Address on your network, so when you router change the IP addresses you do not lose the connection to the modem ( same thing: google it how to assign a static ip address on your network when you have an Airport Extreme ). After you did everything above ,reboot the modem and the router and everything should be running fine.

Re: One Way Audio
Yes, that problem exists in their Softphone too. I did tried HOSTS file trick to point to voip2 ip. Same One Way audio. I gave up.
