No incoming calls

Post by callopsitte_himself »

Since last Sunday my incoming calls don't work (works for outgoing calls). When someone tries to reach me he hears one ring the the click of hang up (no voice mail, nothing).

I've tried much everything (reboot, reset, both ATA and modem) Nothing works. My ports forwarding are also all set (5060, 5061, 6060, 6061, 13000, 13001 TCP and UDP)

Today reading the forum I saw FPL second server, "voip2.freephoneline.ca" So I tried it. I must say that I'm on a pbx (pbxes.org). When changing from "voip.freephoneline.ca" to "voip2.freephoneline.ca" I get a pop up saying, "This provider requires a paid account for security reasons!" thus making it impossible to complete this trunk...

As I'm very well organized (hum) I find I had also as written as server "208.65.240.142". So I tried that one. Again got the message, "This provider requires a paid account for security reasons!". I therefor guess that is the same server as voip2.freephoneline.ca.

So I reverted to "voip.freephoneline.ca" and back to square 1, I can make outgoing calls but cannot receive incoming.

Here's two things that strikes me:

1- I also have another phone line from another voip provider on the same pbx that routes on the same physical phone and both incoming and outgoing calls work for it.

2- Although I put in "voip.freephoneline.ca" in the domain server field I remember that for a long period of time I had put in "208.65.240.142" and it was working perfectly. Now trying it, it does not work just like "voip2.freephoneline.ca".

3- I've had this line for over three years without any fail.

I emailed support two days ago and only got an automatic reply for a ticket number (9764).

Would appreciate if support would look into this as very important phone calls are being lost.

I'm not sure why you are getting that message, is it a PBXES message?

Anyway, I just thought I would mention that the current IP for voip2.freephoneline.ca is 208.65.240.165
This is very likely to change though, but I thought it might be worth trying for your testing.

It does seem a little strange that you would get that message though, or it could just be PBXES trying to get paid accounts from everyone.

I just tried with my pbxes account. I would suggest it is them trying to up sell accounts. Not sue if there is an easy way around it....

There are so many set up or ways to verify possible that I completely forgot one...

I tried setting FPL on the second line of my PAP2 (Line 1 is set with pbxes where FPL is set)... Everything works fine now! So problem is pbxes.org.

Thanks all

Now I'll have to figure out how to just use my PAP 2 with the two lines going in the same physical phone (maybe some kind of splitter) and have the PAP2 route outgoing calls accordingly (Canadian calls go through FPL and U.S.A. calls through the other line). I know I could use a two line phone but I've arranged all my phone plugs in the walls to be connected with the PAP2 in a close circuit.

Gotta love technology!
