No access to VOIP settings after purchasing unlock file.

I have registered with freephonline.ca, registered desktop app, then I purchased unlock key for $50+HST, got the email with config details, but there is only a desktop app present under "admin account", I don't see any settings for the VOIP account. Please advise!

The email I got has the username and password - there are two duplicate text blocks, one for fongo and one for freephoneline, however the user/pass doesn't work on fongo, and on freephoneline.ca there is no access to VIOP setting (voicemail and such) that I can see...

If you bought on FPL, then you are right, the login details will only work there. Always use either voip.freephoneline.ca or voip2.freephoneline.ca for the server details. I believe someone said the other day that their email told them to use sip.fongo.com which is not right currently and your registration may not work properly.

You will be able to see your sip settings by logging in on FPL, then clicking the SETTINGS button (towards the bottom of the initial page). You should then be able to see a SIP SETTINGS tab, just to the side of voicemail settings, downloads, etc.

I see "sip settings" under "Desktop App Settings", is this correct? I assumed it only applies to software, not the ATA box...

It's the same thing.

It didn't used to be so confusing with all the different brands and apps - once upon a time it was actually quite simple You either used the desktop app, or bought the config file. You didn't have any other option but to log into one site and click one button. It's all changed a bit now, but it sounds like you have found what you are looking for now.
