Caller and hear himself talking???

Post by Pirate »

Is there a way to adjust so the caller won't hear himself talking?? The other end is using a laptop with handsfree speakerphone... there must be a way to cancel the echo?

We are release a version with Echo Cancellation yes, but with a hands-free speaker phone it is irrelevant, since it is the actual audio looping back and creating the feedback.

We could implement Noise Cancellation as well but this would cause the air to go DEAD if you weren't talking.

Yes, there is! You need to decrease the port gain.

Under the Regional tab, change the values of "FXS Port Input Gain" and "FXS Port Output Gain" from "-3" to "-9" as I had done on mine.
If the voice is too soft, adjust the value nearer to "-3", say "-6". Play around values between "-3" and "-9" until you get the desired balance between volume and echo...you may even want to try "-12", but on my test, it was close to silent, so I settled on "-9".

I hope this helps. :)
