Cisco SPA112 through 2WIRE 2701HG - 1 way sound
I have been reading (and trying to understand to the best of my computer literacy) this forum to set up my new phone system with freephoneline.ca I subscribed, purchased the script, bought a new Cisco SPA112 and paid for my business phone number to be ported. Freephoneline will not answer emails or provide any support, I'm assuming because I bought my own ATA instead of renting from them. I set the SPA112 up through a 2Wire 2710HG-G modem provided by Bell Canada. I have been on the phone with Cisco and Bell for over 6 hours. Cisco reps have assumed remote control of my computer on three attempts to set everything up, with no luck. Bell Canada has deactivated DMZ. I followed the set up 2Wire post on this forum to the letter, opening the three ranges of ports indicated. Cisco technical engineers went through every setting on the ATA, twice. I still have one way sound. Others can hear me clearly, I have a dial tone but do not hear a ring on the other end or any sound from those receiving the call. A bell rep suggested that the Cisco SPA112 is incompatible with the router. If anyone can help me revive my business line, it would be great. It has been over a week of no phone. Thanks

I think that the issue is that the ports you have opened were for Desktop app, however, Cisco spa112 is using a different range.
Ports that need to be opened for Cisco are under sip settings page in the SPA config.
I believe it's UDP-16384-16482.
You probably followed the post from Ken and did RTP range 13000-13001.
Please try to see exactly what RTP ports are used by Cisco SPA and add those to Bell2wire modem.
If you encounter any issues, please send a PM to any of the Mods(including myself) and we will assist.
Thanks,

Thanks,
If you have a static IP setup on your SPA- please ensure that is setup correctly.
If there are still issues, please send me a PM and I will assist. (I will need your account number)

Issue has been resolved,
These were the steps followed to resolve the issue:
1. Remove port range 13000-20000 from Bell2wire modem Port range fwd
2. Reset SPA to factory defaults (both voice and network)
3. Reconfigure SPA(Voice)->followed FPL approved Guidelines
4. Under SIP Settings-RTP packet size changed from 0.030 to 0.020
5. Under SIP settings-Keep alive interval- changed from 15 to 20
6. Leave network option on DHCP
7. Verify if ports 16384-16482 are open in Bell2wire modem
8. Verify if ports 5060-5061 are open in Bell2wire modem
9. Placed a test call from Bell land line to the home number and audio worked both ways.
Please test the line and let me know if everything works as expected.

Re: Cisco SPA112 through 2WIRE 2701HG - 1 way sound
Good morning,
The issues you helped me with regarding one way sound seem to work well after a few days of testing. I do have one problem when I make outgoing local calls, I get a message saying this call is not covered by my tarriff plan. Any suggestions on how to fix this. Thank you. Ted

I believe that you have to adjust the dialplan in your ATA.
There is one example when you login into your account on the FPL page (Under sip settings)
Please have a look and adjust it accordingly.
If there are still issues- please let me know.
Thanks,
