Incoming Calls get "Busy"

Post by HappyCamper »

Over 2 years ago I made the switch to freephoneline and have been extremely satisfied with the quality of the service. Yes, there have been hiccups, but no more than with my cellphone.

I bought the sip device and unlock codes from fpl, so all I had to do was plug it in and it just worked!

My mother also lives with us and has her own #, but exact same SIP device.

So, there's the background, and now to my problem:

About a week or so ago, I found that incoming calls always resulted in busy or dead air. Outgoing calls continue to work just fine.

Same behaviour on both lines.

I did not change a thing (knowingly). I'm very perplexed as to why this happened, and I've failed to find a solution.

The SIP device reports that it is registered, and I can confirm my status on freephoneline.com

Any idea what I should look for, or where I can look for clues to troubleshoot this?

I never had to forward port 5060 before, but now I just did and it did not make a difference.

Thanks.

Hi there,

If you have a Thompson speedtouch modem, there might be an issue blocking port 5060.
Please see below:

Can you try that and let me know if line is working as expected.

If there are any issues, please send a PM to any of the mods and we will assist.

Thanks,

THANK YOU!

The telnet to manually unbind port 5060 did the trick

This service is 5 star! I am VERY happy.

Cheers!
