Can't call 1877... and *67 Issues

Post by Shaf77 »

Just realized that I can't make calls to a 1 877 #... anyone else having the same issues?

Also noticed that If I use *67 to block CID it shows a number (416) 642-0882 (not my number)....

This number has been seen many times on these forums, it's one of the main #s owned by some portion of FPL.ca's routing system. It's been known to show up in various failed CLID scenarios.

When I go home from the office I'll test if I get the same results when using *67, would be interesting to see... and likely helpful to the SIP Programmers.

You'll come across a random phone number quite often when using *67 with VOIP. It's basically the BTN of the carrier that call is being routed through. If they don't support call blocking, then their trunk BTN will show up instead. Unfortunately out of our hands to control this.

This may be an obvious questions but have you tried without the '1' in front of the 877? Our system automatically prefixes a +1 in front of all numbers dialed.

I had already tried that.

I have found a fix to this...

I had used *67 to block CID when I had made a call.

Since that time 1 8777 was not working...

Looking at the ATA, I noticed that there is a *68 setting to "Block CID Deact Code"

Once I dialed *68, I was able to once again dial my 1 877 #.

I guess this is by design? I was always under the impression that if you used *67, it was for that once call only. I guess you have to use *68 to disable blocking....
