Router Port Configuration Confusion: Triggering/Forwarding/Q

Post by TSellers »

Just setting up a new router a Linksys WRT320N after returning the hideous 120N. This one seems quite a bit better, so far it has not rebooted every minute, the DMZ actually seems to work and the QOS is much easier to understand (and it seems to work on outgoing packets as well as incoming).

However I have read many of the posts in the forum about the need to deal with various ports. So, so far I have dealt with 13000-1,and 5060-1.

Now for my confusion:

Did I get all the right ports? I think I read in another ports someone was openeing up some others?

Would I use 'Single Port Forwarding', 'Port Range Forwarding', and 'Port Range Triggering'?

So here is what I've actually done so far, if anyone could comment on whether this is correct or not I'd really appreciate the feedback:

Single Port forwarding: Nothing done:

Port Range Forwarding: Note the last 2 are for uTorrent and not FPL:

Port Range Trigering:

Thanks for looking!

Your images don't seem to be showing up for me!
But here's what you'd do:

If running an ATA
Port forward UDP ports: 5060-6061 (SIP port range that most ATAs are using a port or two within), 10000-20000 (Used for RTP triggering - not always necessary to do these, but why not)

If running the softphone
Port forward UDP ports: 6060-6061, 13000-13001

Thanks Steve,

If the images did not show up I wonder if that very same router was causing problems with my DMZ, as those images are on my Webserver on that router!

I just got my landline ported a few minutes ago and unfortunately I cannot call it from a Rogers cell phone for some reason, in fact at this point have not received any incoming yet so not sure if it's working, will deal with that first and then get after those settings for my ATA.
