Hopefully someone can help me out. I've just switched from Nettalk Duo due to their inability to pay their bills and dropping service for Canada.
I'm using a Linksys SPA-2102 that I've had kicking around for awhile. Intermittently, I can't hear the person on the other end of the line when calling out or in but they can hear me. Here's what I've done so far;
1. I've flashed the firmware to the latest settings 5.2.13(004)
2. Opened ports on my router for 16384-16482 UDP/TCP, 5060-5080 TCP/UDP and 6060-6061 TCP/UDP
3. Even tried DMZ but still had issue so disabled it.
4. UDP is re-enabled on the router
5. Set everything specified in the SIP settings on my account
6. Tried setting up STUN server (enabled and disabled) stunserver.org and another that I don't remember
7. Tried using only G729a codec but ends up sending incoming calls direct to vmail
What I've noticed is when I can't hear the person on the other end of the line, both codecs are being used G711u and G729a (one on the encode and one on the decode). When I can hear both ways, only the G729a codec is being used. Unfortunately, when I specify the G729a codec and to use only preferred codec, the calls go direct to vmail. Not sure what else to do hear and I'm new to setting up SIP routers so I'm trying to learn as much as I can.

I think that you still have some small settings that need to be adjusted. Please verify your configuration against the below:

Document is from PAP2T, however, settings are almost identical with SPA2102.
I am not sure what number 4 is (UDP is re- enabled on the router)- perhaps you mean UPNP is enabled?
Please let me know.
Thanks,

Re: Can't hear person on other end
Is your problem solved? I have the same problem. I even try to use freephoneline softphone and Xlite both at home and work. No luck. The softphone worked before. I just bought the VoIP Unlock Key recently and tried to set up on my ATA. Now neither of them work.
