No Incoming calls Linksys PAP2

Post by pjevic »

Hi,

3-5 days ago I stoped receiving incoming calls. Outgoing calls are working fine.

Symptoms:
Incoming calls are going to Freephone VM after 5 rings.
When I test from my cell, I can hear ringing but it is not ringing at my home phone,
Sometimes (once in a while) phisical phone rings only once and if I pick it right away I receive incoming call. When I test this, I can hear 3-4 rings before home phone start to actually ring. This (to receive one ring only) happen ~1 out of 5 times.

Troubleshooting:
I tried this but everything is still the same: No incoming calls
I changed to new IP
I reset Linksys PAP2 and I reconfigured everything againg based on "Linksys ATA Configuration Walk_v2_08_04_13.docx"
I restarted (power off/on) BELL's 2wire router/modem
If I disconnect hardware device, Desktop app is working fine.

Is it possible that something changed at Fongo's or Bell side in recently? There are several posts with same symptoms

Fongo_support please advise.

Hi there,

it appears that either DND (do not disturb) or CFWD (Call forwarding all) are enabled on your line.

Try dialling *73 then hang up (deactivate call forwarding), and than dial *79 and hang up again (deactivate Do Not Disturb)

Please try incoming calls once you have performed the steps above.

Thanks,

Thanks for reply.
Still the same.
Phone is PanasonicKX-TGA401C, I disabled answering machine completely and checked Night Mode (DND) is not turned on. Also there are no blocked numbers.
I don't think it is a phone. I might try to apply factory reset on the phone or connect another phone just to be sure.

Is there anything else that we might look ?

Call forwarding and DND is set on the ATA, not the phone. It is worth dialling the numbers (one at a time) Support posted as they should deactivate anything that has been set accidentally. These are star codes that set or unset things inside the ATA itself rather than on the phone, so changing the phone probably won't do much good. Doing a full reset should fix the problem, but that is only because it puts all these settings back to normal - which is unset.

Regarding numbers posted by support, are you reffering to:
*73 deactivate call forwarding
*79 deactivate Do Not Disturb
or there might be something else.
I reviewed ATA admin web page, I can't find any setting that is enabled related to potential CF or DND.

Please advise

I did both: calling *73+ hanagup and *79 + hangup. When I check flags after calls via IP interface nothing is changed.
When I disable these 2 services via web interface it is recognized by phone.
I''ll try to reset home phone to factory default in meantime.

Have you tried using the desktop application to ensure nothing funny on your router is happening either?

Thanks for your replay.
Yes, desktop application is working fine. I still can't get any incoming calls and I don't know what else to try.

I tried at different network, Rogers instead of Bell, same thing. When I pluged Lynksis pap2, phone outgoing worked right away but still no incoming calls. I also verified phone without Linksys PAP2 by pluging phone to regular line and incoming calls are working fine. I will try to switch to Line2 at linksys pap2.
Any other ideas are highly appreciated.

One more detail: home phone is not ringing. So incoming call is fine just there is no any signalization that someone is calling me(ringing or similar) at home phone so every call goes to voicemail after while.
If i connect home phone to regular Rogers line it is ringing fine.

I'm having a similar problem on my SpeedTouch 780. I just purchased the SIP Config file for my number yesterday and configured the 780 as per the instructions in the forum. I can successfully make calls from the phone attached to the device, but when I call my FPL number from my cell, the phone attached to the 780 does not ring and it always goes to VM.

It looks like the SIP device is registering only for outgoing calls, and not incoming. I'm not sure if this is even possible, but that's what it seems to be doing.

I ran a test using the FPL FollowMe feature. I set-up FPL FollowMe settings to Enabled, Sequential, and Call Forward When Unavailable, When I call my FPL number, the phone that I am forwarding to begins to ring immediately, which should only happen if my SIP is off-line.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi there,

Please check configuration against the below:

http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=315

This might resolve your issue.

If that is still a problem after reconfiguration, please send me PM with the telephone number associated with the account and I will check.

Thanks,

Is it possible that Linksys voltage. frequency or waveform settings could be changed to initiate ring and CID and Panasonic cordless phone?
Right now I am using 90/52/sinusoid
