I just replied- looks like a ATA config issue on your end.

Re configuring the ATA will fix the problem.

Hi there,

By changing your ATA to point directly to the alternate (backup server) you did not resolve the issue and you are not following the FPL guidelines.

Please ensure that this is followed to prevent any account issues.

I tried factory reset and set every field as same as your instruction, and it didn't work. Strange enough, it has been working flawlessly for quite a while and suddenly stopped working this afternoon. Even I changed setting according to your document, it's still not working until I changed server. I don't know what else I could do as every field is already set to same your document field.

Hi there,

Please be advised that your system is not setup as per FPL guidelines.

I have included a few notes for your own reference:

Notes:
It is always best to use the DNS name for your SIP server as our infrastructure is always expanding/changing/being maintained. The IP addresses which you register to will change over time.

Use of Fongo SIP Servers that are not listed in this document will result in your account being suspended.

Registration Interval:3600 seconds (1 hour)

Registration Expiry: 3600 seconds (1 hour)

Failed Registration Re-Try Interval:120 seconds

http://support.freephoneline.ca/entries ... redentials

You may have issue on your account if you don't follow the FPL guidelines.

Thanks,

just a bit confused, according to your document, the option for "Use DNS SRV" was selected to "no" in document's image, is this option what you mean "always best to use the DNS name for your SIP server as our infrastructure". i just change this option to "yes" per this post.
for "Failed Registration Re-Try Interval:120 second" i have set to 3600 seconds and got a reboot. i guess this will minimize server load. now voip.freephoneline.ca is back to work. it's a pity SP2102 can't set backup server, it can only be set to either voip.freephoneline.ca or voip2.freephoneline.ca, whenever voip.freephoneline.ca got problem, i might only realize after missing many calls due to unable to automatically switch to voip2.freephoneline.ca.

Hi there,

Code: Select all

Re-just a bit confused, according to your document, the option for "Use DNS SRV" was selected to "no"
Please follow my document, that setting is ATA specific.

That line refers to users who are hard coding IP's in their setup instead of sip server names.

If you follow my instructions you will get this resolved with no issues,

Thanks,

concerning "Failed Registration Re-Try Interval: 120 seconds", the SPA2102 doesn't have this option, original setting shows "120-3600" in "register expires" option while your document shows "3600". although i set it to 3600 based on your document, i'm a bit worry that in case of registration failure, does your setting mean i have to wait 3600 seconds i.e. one hour to get another attempt for registration from modem to server? if so, that could be a big issue.

Hi there,

You should not be worried. As long as you setup your SPA2102 exactly as per the document, you should have no problems.

Thanks,
