Hi all,
I am using my own Linksys PAP2T with firmware 5.1.6(LS).
My Phone line is in the 819 area but I can't call 819***** or 514***** numbers. I have dead air but according to the "Call log" it seems to go through.
But when I dial 613*** it works well.
I am using the suggested dial plan under "SIP settings":
(911|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|1xxxxxxxxxx|011xxxxxxxxxxxx.|98*|[6-7]x*xxxxxxxxxxx.)
Any idea would be appreciated.

Re: Dialing difficulties
Not sure it's related to my dialing plan.
is it possible that there is some restrictions on my account?
I ordered my unlock key yesterday.
Thanks

Re: Dialing difficulties
Dead air usually means a problem with the router setup. After you try calling a 613 number, what happens if you try calling a 819 number straight after? It could be that when you dial the 819 number you are making your router setup things properly so when you call the 613 number it goes through OK.
Another test would be to load in the desktop app and see if you can call the numbers though that.

Re: Dialing difficulties
When I connect my my ATA directly to the modem it works. But when I go though my router I can't call certain numbers.
I have setup a DMZ and port forwarding 5060, 5060 and 10000-20000 still no luck.
My router is a Cisco WRT160N V2.
Thanks

Re: Dialing difficulties
DMZ is really a bad thing, but it is OK if you are just testing. If you forward everything to your ATA then someone could effectively log into your ATA and cause you a bit of a headache.
My initial thoughts would be to make sure you have forwarded the right RTP ports to the right IP. These are the higher port numbers. Look in your ATA to see which ports the ATA is set up to use. My PAP2T uses 16384 to 16482 and I suspect your ATA will be similar. I know the range you have forwarded includes these numbers, but the is no much point in forwarding more than needed. Make sure they are UDP ports also.
Once you are sure the ports are forwarded to the right IP, power down everything and wait a while (5 minutes or so) and then start things up one by one (modem -> router - > ata) after each one connects.
I would also see if there is an firmware updates for your router.

Re: Dialing difficulties
I've remove the DMZ and verified the exact ports on my ATA. I did a forward of the ports + 6061 and 5060. I turn off everything and started them in right order and I still can't dial certain numbers.
My router it already updated to the last firmware.

Re: Dialing difficulties
I tried to reset the router to factory default and still same issue.
Why would my router allow 613 numbers but not 819 numbers?
Thanks for your help guys

Please be advised that the issue you are describing is cause by an incorrect ATA configuration.
The ATA config needs to be reviewed one more time to ensure that is setup as per FPL guidelines.
Please follow my suggestion in order to resolve the issue.
Last but not least, if ATA is setup with static IP- this could be an issue in certain configurations.
Thanks,
