Hi, any help is appreciated.
I have downloaded the FPL desktop windows version, and have been a Dellvoice user for at least a year. Dellvoice obviously suffered from bugs, any one who used it knew that. OK, here's my hardware:
-windows pc running vista
-cogeco cable internet
-RCA DHG525 cable modem
-D-LINK DIR-601 wireless router
-Comodo firewall
Until I logged out of my account a couple days ago, my Dellvoice app ran flawlessly. That wasn't always the case, as most of us know.
I have made NO system changes whatsoever.
Upon downloading FPL softphone, on first try, guess what? No incoming audio. I see many people complaining of this issue.
I took the time to do port forwarding in my wireless router setup, after rebooting the router and the pc, with fingers crossed, nothing!
I followed suggestions from this forum and changed the SIP settings, neither setting did anything different.
Running the so-called test, it reports the old port 13000 gem i remember from Dellvoice.
I disconnected the router, plugged the pc directly into the RCA cable modem, and....... nothing. No incoming audio, the recipient of the call hears me just fine. Same as before.
Occaisonally the voicemail will give me audio, but never any calls. So i doubt it's a problem on my end, but hey I'm open to any suggestions.
So here is my question to actual customers......
Being convinced the windows softphone is buggy at BEST, i am considering spending the 50 bucks to get the unlock key and use my own softphone software, is this a waste of money? Has anyone here had any success with this whatsoever, or can I expect more problems and wasting 50 bucks? I noticed from another post that asking for your money back is impossible so I am worried this may be a money grabbing scam, no offense, just asking. I am not new to this, and Dellvoice worked most of the time, with an outdated (and vulnerable) java version.
Please answer honestly, 1. Can this software actually work? 2. Am I hoping beyond hope thinking spending 50 bucks will improve my experience, or ruin it further?
Thank you for any help or responses.

Re: Help and question for customers
Hi, thanks for responding. I saw that in the knowledge base before posting, and my firmware is version 2.00NA seemingly newer than the 101NA mentioned there. Also please notice that I bypassed the router completely and have the pc connected directly to the cable modem, as I mentioned. Didn't help. Again my no-longer-working Dellvoice worked problem free 2 days ago, on the wireless router, before I logged out and can't log in anymore. Why don't you log in to my phone and see if you can call through it? Please help me. And how well do other softphones work with this service? Any idea?

Re: Help and question for customers
Ok. Just wanted to say that thanks to a PM to Fongo Support, I can say that my PM was answered in less than 10 mins, and after a quick check on his/her end, Fongo Support was able to "force" my FPL softphone account to work. So kudos there, and thank you! For a free product, that was customer service at it best. Cheers!
