PAP2T Outbound Proxy

Post by TheKing »

What is "Outbound Proxy" in PAP2T? Is it backup server if primary doesn't connect?

I've
Proxy:voip.freephoneline.ca
Outbound Proxy: voip2.freephoneline.ca
Use Outbound Proxy: no (should I change to yes?)

My main problem is that I occassionally get "cannot connect to server" error and then I've to reboot to get it to connect. I use Google DNS and ports are forwarded.

Hi there,

You should configure it as per below:
http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=310

If you are having issues after reconfiguration, you should try to power off modem, router and ATA for 20 minutes and power back on after 20 minutes starting with the modem.

Please try and let me know.

Thanks,

Yea, I've referred to that document. But I am trying to understand what's "Outbound proxy" and "Proxy Fallback Intvl?"
If voip.freephoneline.ca is down, shouldn't there be a backup that the ATA should attempt to connect? I presumed Outbound proxy to be that backup server parameter.

Hi there,
The setup is simple, with no backup servers.

You should follow the document to avoid potential issues.

Thanks,
