Phone doesnt ring????

I got my config file and configured my linksys pap2t accouding to the document on this forum.
Now, i can make outgoing calls no problem but when i call my FPL number the phone connected to the PAP2 doesnt ring.....
If i pick up the phone the call is connected and i can talk with no problems...

Does it have something to do with the ring voltage or something?
Any help would be appreciated.

I'd definitely check that first - What kind of phone are you using?

Some digital phones only accept a certain range of voltage/frequencies.

Actually its an old phone... I mean really really old....
I think that was my problem, I hooked it upto my cordless base and all is well.

No problem, when I first hooked mine up I had a "Old-Faithful" myself but quickly realized that my bell was bending with the pin whenever it rang, thus making no noise...
