One way audio fixed when using voip2.freephoneline.ca

Post by sherrell »

I have a Linksys PAP2 device behind an ASUS RT-N16 running DD-WRT. It's currently the second line on the device but the plan is to make it the first line and move completely to freephonline.ca.

I signed up for the service last night, followed the set up documents and could not get incoming audio to work. Looking at the connection tracking tables on the router it looked like I was sending traffic but never see anything coming back from the freephoneline servers.

After much fiddling I found changing the server to voip2.freephoneline.ca fixed my problem. Then, looking at the connection tracking tables I can see traffic going in both directions.

Just to clarify, changing from voip.freephoneline to voip2.freephoneline without changing any other settings is enough to make the service work.

My quesion, is it ok to leave the server as voip2.freephoneline.ca?

Hi there,

You didn't really "resolved" the issue, you just put a band aid. Please send me a PM with the telephone number associated with the account and I will check it at the back end.

Thanks,
sherrell

I have same problem. One way audio, no incoming on VoIP.freephoneline.ca. Moved to voip2.freephoneline.ca, partially solved problem. Now works on outgoing to fido/windmobile cell. But just 20% works on bell cell/landline. How to solve the problem?

I got the same issue with one way audio if using voip.freephoneline.com. Adding a STUN server, seems to resolve the problem. Switching to voip2.freephoneline.ca works fine even without STUN.

Fongo support, could you please shed some light on this problem? Should I just use voip2 proxy?

Thanks!
