Hi guys, I need your help, I got PAP2T-NA, when I put password on it then SAVE changes, after this when i try to Login into PAP2t-NA it sayd Login passowrd incorrect etc. So I tried amy times, still same problem.

As well as while doing PASSWORD things i take extra preccoutions, & I make sure many time then I write it down Password, after this all, it says Login Password incorrect, so I can't get in.

Any way I just like to know"What is the proper procedure to Create Secured Password on PAP2T-NA", so that no body should make changes in the settings.

Please let me know, how to successfully login after create Password on PAP2T-NA. So I like to know only the procep procedure to create PASSWORD on PAP2T-NA.

Thanks for your replies.

You just log into your ATA, click on admin login -> advanced View, then the System tab. There you will see an Admin Password box where you enter your password. Next click on save.

Your ATA should reboot and prompt you for login details. The username is admin (all lower case) and your password of course.

I just double checked on mine and this is how it works. Test with a simple password (1234). The other thing to watch is that a password is not being cached somehow, so try using a different browser.

hi Jake thanks for your reply. Which BROWSER is good for doing this TESTING, because I tried IE8.

over there i can see Admin Password & User Password, so i enter like this below.
Admin PAssword : 1234
User Password : 1234
after this I Save the Changes

Once reboot PAP2T & when you open New Browser, after this none password get in, so I face this problem.
user name : admin (i enter)
password : 1234 (i enter)

So what i am doing wrong.
If you did this TESTING please let me know, how you get SUCCESS.

Hopefully waiting for your reply.

Thanks

I used FireFox, and I set it up just like I said. I tested it and it worked fine for me.

The only difference between what you put and what I did was I didn't enter anything for the user password, although I can't see that being a problem.

Your pap2t, is it one you bought from a shop, or online from ebay? It could be there is something wrong with the box. Also, what firmware is it running?

in my pap2t i can see formware version : 5.1.6(LS),

the same way i did today as you suggest, when i type this in browser then it is showing directly HOME PAGE of PAP2T, then once i click on Admin Login then it is asking for password & it is get into settings to make changes.

But like this way it is not fully Secured, because
1)-it is showing all the time PAP2T HOME PAGE, then it is asking password.
2)-once you enter correct password then you can make changes in PAP2T, there after PAP2T never ever ask for password, when ever you open & close any number of time new browser (no password ask). Even you did HARD REBOOR PAPT2, still it will not ask for Password, the PAP2T is open. And HOME PAGE is visible in this case.

What i notice here, once you enter Correct password there after it will save in the PC Chachi, so when ever you open browser then it will not ask any more Password.

So still not get fully success, only partly working. So i like to know.
1)-How to HIDE HOME PAGE or how to protect HOME PAGE to not visible untill you enter PASSWORD.
2)-How to Fully Secured PAP2T, I mean any number of time open browser, that many times it has to ask for PASSWORD.

Hopefully waiting for your reply.

I would suggest the password storing thing is something to do with your browser. Mine brings the login box every time I open the page, even though I have asked FF to store the password. The boxes are filled in, I just need to click submit.

To stop the initial page from showing you have to enter a USER password. When you try and log back in again you have to enter USER mode first, then ADMIN mode. You can't jump straight to ADMIN mode. This might have been your problem before when you said it didn't take your password. If you were typing in the ADMIN login details straight off, then it would have rejected the login.

So, set a USER password then it should prompt you to login when the page refreshes use user (all lower case again) as the username, and the password you just set. Once you have logged in there, you can then switch to admin mode, using admin (lower case) as the user name and the password you set for ADMIN.
