Fongo claims to provide you with the ability to make calls that use 0.5 Mb per minute.
In reality, Fongo's calls use an average of 1.1 Mb per minute.
This is due to Fongo's insistence on using the heavyweight PCMU codec whereas free, lightweight alternatives exist.
Caveat emptor, especially if you're on a data plan.

I assume you're measuring this using the most recent release? I remember an update last September that was supposed to cut usage from 1Mb/min to 0.5Mb/min.

Yep, noticed this too. Measured on the latest Fongo release for Android (2.4.0.9).
