Porting Out?

Post by nr52live »

If I bring in a number to use on FPL and it's not the service that I want, is it easy to port out? Anybody have any issues with this in the past?

I have a cell phone and it would be great to bring in the number and park it here while I am out of country for a very long time, and then bring it back out to my cell phone again.

Is this possible?

There is no problem porting out, it might just take a bit of work with the company you are porting to to allow it. As far as Fongo goes they will help you as much as they can and won't hinder it at all. Because you don't have a 'phone bill' as such, some companies might take a while to get their heads around it.

I think Wind Mobile refused to port numbers in from FPL, but I think that had more to do with a special offer they were running more than anything. Don't forget you might have at least $25 to pay for each port. Depending on the amount of time you will be away it might be better to switch to a PAYG plan and just dump the $50 on it as it will save you the hassle of moving the number away from the cell company.
